Marlborough finish league season unbeaten
Well the boys did it, a seriously tough game but they rose to the occassion! They went into the game missing 4 of the usual pack owing to being stranded abroad or at prior engagements but because of Marlborough's strength in depth we managed to cycle a few of the Nomads players who gave everything on the day and did the Club proud. (This did not hamper the Nomads scoreline either as they also won well on Saturday.)

Unfortunately, for some 'unexplained reason' the result was incorrectly reported by the Dorset & Wilts / RFU so the League Table shows that we lost but we have been promised that is being fixed by Friday. To be honest not one of us really cared as we were there and saw our boys do it and that is all that counts!!

Well I can report that it really was the most successful season in Marlborough's recent history, a truely fantastic result. The League table should show the following:

Played: 22
Won: 22
Drawn: 0
Lost: 0
For: 923
Against: 97
Difference: 826
Points: 44

Nathan Morgan had a great season scoring over 300 points for the team which obviously included the boot but also included 15 tries for the team. The top try scorer however was the star of the show both on Saturday and throughout the entire season, David Lemon with 16 tries during the season.

A few years ago now, Marlborough did go up into the Southern Counties but sharply came straight back down the following season but something tells me that this will most certainly not be the case next season.
